Founded in 2012, Community Paramedics is a social enterprise established by former Parachute Regiment Officer and Paramedic Gary Eves.

Gary was among the first to study the Paramedic Science Degree in Bristol at the University of the West of England (UWE). During his time at university, Gary identified the need for healthcare students to be provided with opportunities for paid work experience, that would help fund their ability to study successfully whilst providing a professional service to the community.

Supported by UWE, Gary was able to develop a robust businessdisability-confident plan, that was built around the concept of student healthcare professionals being paid to cover local events with the support of experienced and knowledgeable registered healthcare professionals. During the first few years this was primarily aimed at student and registered paramedics, but over time has evolved with Community Paramedics now attracting students and qualified staff from medical, nursing and allied health backgrounds.

We are also accredited by the disability confidence scheme, in recognition of our recruitment objectives.

Our successful model works so well because it blends the latest evidence based practice and training taught to students, with the experience, skill and confidence of fully qualified healthcare professionals. The result is the highest level of care at events at a competitive price. The team at Community Paramedics are working hard to expand our portfolio of services, and have already introduced our first aid training section, with other new and exciting projects under development for launch during 2017.
